1 When can a family rate be purchased?
Family premiums apply to one or a maximum of two adults and at least one minor child traveling together. Adult children are covered as long as they are still in an educational program or professional training. The traveling persons need not be related to each other, i.e., two mothers with their children who are all traveling together can purchase the family package.
2 To which countries does the European rate apply?
The European rate applies to all European countries as well as the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea (e.g., Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco). The eastern border for the Europe rate is the Ural Mountains and the Ural River.
3 Who/What is a risk person?
Risk persons are persons (e.g., relatives, life partners) who can also trigger an insurance claim, in addition to the insured customer. If a maximum of four persons travel together and are insured, mutual insurance coverage exists – independent of the degree of relationship.
4 What do I do if I get sick before my trip?
Anyone who becomes ill before starting a trip must cancel immediately – because any increased costs required by the organizer after the illness begins will be charged to the customer. The principle of “hope for healing” is not covered, i.e., don’t wait and hope that you’ll get better.
5 How shortly before a trip is it possible to purchase Travel Cancellation Insurance (individually or in a package)?
Purchase of this insurance is only possible at booking or within 21 days after confirmed booking (date of confirmation of booking). In case of short-term bookings (between 28 and 22 days before beginning travel), the insurance must be purchased no later than 21 days before the first date of travel. In case of bookings occurring within 21 days of the first date of travel, purchase of insurance is only possible on the booking date.
